Throwback Thursday!

Hello my lovelies, so today I thought I'd join the whole #TBT but do it on my blog instead of on twitter or Instagram. So basically I thought I'd share a few pictures from my time in Germany on the exchange, which was about 3 months ago now. It was definitely one of the best and worst experiences I had, I had an amazing time but it wasn't always brilliant and I've got to admit spending 10 days in a foreign country with a family you don't know is pretty daunting! So here are a few snapshots of the best bits!

 (Holocaust Memorial-Berlin)

 (The Reichstag- Berlin)

( St Mary's Tower Selfie- Osnabrück)

 ( Traditional German Craftsmen -Münster)

(Weird statue- Osnabrück)

(Shopping with the girls- Hanover)

(Brandenburg Gate- Berlin)

(Subway Selfie- Berlin)

(Cathedral- Münster)

(Last picture in Germany-Exchanges and Ice cream)

Okay so sorry that wasn't a really detailed post or anything but I have about 3 post drafted for the next 3 days so keep an eye out for them! Basically ages ago I wrote a post on my time in Germany but felt it wasn't very honest and I couldn't really portray what I wanted to say correctly through a post so decided not to put it up. These are just a few of the 600 pictures I took throughout the exchange, crazy I know! I also apologise for the bad quality, these were literally just taken on my Iphone during our trip. Again sorry that there isn't a full on post about my time in Germany but these pictures definitely capture some of the best moments!

Love

Hopefully it will be up tomorrow! I'm also really excited to say that I'm taking part in the Easter Beauty Box Swap and have been partnered up, so look out for that in the future! That's all for now :-)

February Favourites (Beauty Post)

So it's not quite the end of February yet but since it's the end of halfterm/midterm and then it's back to school this week, then my birthday and then on the 5th I'm off to Germany for 10 days, I thought I'd fit in some posts now! So these are my favourites for the month of February, yes I thought I'd jump on the blogger bandwagon of doing monthly favourites then every couple of months do a giveaway of some things that have previously appeared on my favourites. This months favourites are a selection of products that I have bought over the last few weeks and I love using (hence why they are my favourites aha).

The first of my favourites is the Olay essentials beauty fluid for normal/dry/combo skin (below right) and I am so happy with this! I personally have combination skin with dry skin across the bridge of my nose and some on my cheeks and then the typical teenage oily t-zone. This moisturises my skin so well leaving all my skin soft and smooth without being greasy or drying. I heard about this product from my Great-nan! She swears by it and has lovely skin even though she's in her 90's, so if it's good enough for her, it's good enough for me! But yeh I use this everyday after washing my face and it is a good base for make up too,or like it says on the back you can mix with your foundation to make a really nice tinted moisturiser.

My next favourite is Rimmel 9-in-1 BB cream in the shade Light (above left). I bought this after a friend recommended it to me. I was a bit sceptical when buying this after I was really disappointed by the Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation (ew). But I was surprised by this foundation as it offers a fresh-faced natural looking finish with decent coverage which can be built up. I bought this for the days where I don't need a thick face of foundation but need some lighter coverage and I've found it to be perfect for that. As for the 9-in-1 properties as the packaging say: Primes,Moisturises, Minimises Pores, Conceals, Covers, Smoothes, Mattifies, Brightens and helps protect. Now I wouldn't say it does all of these but it definitely is a really moisturising bb cream which gives a natural non-shiny finish and evens out skin tone as well as giving a good amount of coverage. My only criticism is that it only comes in two shades, Light and Medium, which doesn't really cater for many as the light shade is still quite dark making this probably too dark for more fair skinned people, but apart from that I love it.

My next favourite is the Collection 16 hour Lasting Perfection Concealer in the shade number 2 Light (pictured below). Now every beauty blogger, youtuber, and their dog have raved and written about this concealer so I thought I'd join the club and buy it too! After trying many concealers in attempts to cover the constant grey under my eyes I have found something that works! Yes I am going to join in and rave about this product too! This concealer gives great long lasting coverage and covers not only my horrendous dark circles and brightens but also covers any blemishes really well too. I have blended it with both my ring finger and with a concealer brush and it looks just as good with both. There is also a good selection of colours and this shade needs barely any blending on my skin. Also with it being around £4-£5 (it was half price at around £2.50 when I bought it)  it's affordable and better quality than a lot of other more expensive concealers too. I loooove it.

My next favourite is another Collection product, this time the Extreme 24 hour felt tip liner (above). I've only got into wearing eye liner in the last couple months as before I was convinced it made me look too gothic with my dark hair and all, but then my friend introduced me to the cat-eye and I was captured by the trend. I've treid a few different liquid eye liners but I've found them hard to use and my eye liner has ended up looking a bit pants really. My friend bought me this and the pen style is so easy to use and is practically fool proof. It's also easy to create thin and thick lines with, so is ideal. If I can use it then so can anyone! Saying that I don't think it's 24 hour exactly, more 7-8 hours without touch ups but longer with touch ups. But this is a favourite of mine as it is easy to control and gives a nice matte. But it is affordable and definitely a good budget buy giving good quality and easy application.

So my next favourite is a hair product which I saw advertised quite a bit and that is the L'Oréal Paris Studio Line #TXT Wave Creating Spray (pictured below). On the back it has instructions for spraying on damp hair and twisting then blow drying to create waves on straight hair. My hair is already wavy/curly and I just have to spritz this through while dry or damp, scrunch it a bit then leave it to dry and I've found it really defines my curls without being sticky or leaving my hair crunchy like lots of other products I've used. This is perfect for my hair to make my curls less frizzy and more defined which is a massive thing for me after trying endless hair products to achieve that. It also works well on straight hair (my friend was my guinea pig) and it creates more of a tousled beachy wave look but either way I love it! It kind of smells like johnson's baby wipes though. It's normally £3.89 at boots or superdrug but I got mine at the local pharmacy for £2.99.

So the last products in my favourites this month are probably my favourite things, I'm literally obsessed with them and they are two eos lipbalms in flavours: Raspberry and Pomegranate (below left) and Strawberry Sorbet (below right). I've wanted to try one of these for ages but they seem to be a pain in the arse to get in the UK (let me know if you know anywhere that does them please!). So when my bestfriend Dulcie went on the half term school trip to New York I asked her to buy me two and she did! I literally love these so much, they smell amazing, are super moisturising and the packaging is so cute! I really like the shape of them which at first I thought I'd find annoying but I actually love, they look really pretty on my desk and are just really handy and nicer than a lot of other lip balms I've tried and trust me I'm the lipbalm queen! I literally have loads of lipbalms and these are up there with the best of them. I'm definitely going to buy some more of these now I know that they're amazing even if I have to pay ridiculous shipping fees haha!
So that concludes my February favourites! I hope you liked them and let me know if you've tried any of the products and what you think of them or any suggestions of products I should try (sorry if I rambled a bit!). Also I apologise for the dodgy quality photos but my Iphone camera is a bit cracked! I hope you all have a good week and I plan to post a few more times before I leave for Germany so watch this space :-) Anyway thanks if you took the time to read!

A Belated Happy New Year

So firstly I would like to say happy new year to everyone and I hope you had a lovely Christmas! And secondly I want to apologise for not posting in ages, but I do have my reasons. So as some of you may know I moved house on the 20th of December, being 5 days before Christmas it was extremely stressful and busy so I didn't have to time to write then. Then when I got to the new house I found out that we wouldn't have Internet connected until the 27th! The day I was going to Cornwall. So now I am back and have drafted a few posts to make up for not being here which will be posted probably today.
Now that's over with let's get back to Christmas! I hope you all had a great day whether you celebrate it or not. What did you get up to? Any favourite presents? I'd love to hear from you. I had a nice day myself, spent the morning with my mum and her boyfriend Dan then went to visit my grandma, grandad, uncle and great grandma in a village nearby. It was really nice to see them all and have a good catch up while exchanging gifts. I then went to my sister and her boyfriend's house for Christmas dinner along with my mum and then came home in time to see the Christmas tv specials and chill out for the night!

Cheeky Christmas Day Selfie, oops
At teatime on the 27th I got picked up by my stepmum Julie to take me to her and my dad's cottage in Cornwall. It was a long drive and we arrived at about 10.30pm in the village. It was really cute and we had a drink before heading home to the cottage. While there I opened my Christmas presents from them and chilled out for a bit before heading to bed. Some of the gifts I received will feature in upcoming posts, for example I got 4 good books; The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks, Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks, The Great Gatsby and The Book Thief so will be doing some book reviews in the near future.
This is the beach in the village where my Parents' live.

I was only in Cornwall for 3 days in the end as my trip ended up being shorter than expected but while I was there I still saw a lot of amazing views and took some lovely photos to share with you guys. On my last day Julie and I went for a walk which was about 10 miles in total. We walked from the village where they live to a local town about 4 miles away via a woodland style trail and jumped in muddy puddles pretty much all the way (I'm very rebellious don't you know!) which was a good laugh. We stopped in the town, had a drink then made our way back to the village by a very hilly coastal path. It was so slippy and with steep steps anyway it was pretty challenging and I ended up bum-shuffling down the downhill parts. I was hilarious with us both slipping all over the place but the last up hill part was the real killer, all worth it for the views and of course we had to take some selfies once we reached the top just to prove we got there!;)
This is the view from the Coastal Path.
Julie looking lovely, me however a little windswept.

Finally I'm really sorry for the lateness of this post, I've had it drafted since the 2nd! I finally had my internet set up this evening so expect a load of posts coming up to make up for it. Also since moving house I've started lots of DIY projects so I could do some how to DIY posts? As I said I will be writing some book reviews in the near future and my Music picks will be returning and some Beauty inspired posts to so watch out! Thankyou for everything and continue to comment etc, I have also added my e-mail to the bottom too so you can contact me directly if you so wish to!

Music Picks: My top ten this week

Hey my lovelies, so here is my top ten song picks this week, I've kind of given up on the tunes on Tuesday thing as I have realised Tuesday is one of my busiest days and it just isn't realistic aiming to post every Tuesday especially with all my homework on top of clubs etc, sorry! So I'll just post my top ten favourite tracks of the moment now and again! My music taste is really varied and this week's picks are a variety of new and old songs, hope you enjoy them :D

Birdy- Wings (Link Here) I'm a long time lover of Birdy and got listening to this song from a friend covering it on piano at a lunch time a few weeks ago :-) I really like this song it's just chilled out and a bit less serious than some of her older stuff, I have no idea what the video is about though. Bit of a different sound to her first album but still really good.

Pia Mia- Red Love (Link Here) Pia Mia probably best known as bestfriend to Kylie Jenner or for covering 'Hold on we're going home' over dinner with Kanye West and Drake. Not really credited for her own music enough, love this song and also 'Shotgun Love'. She has such a lovely voice and this song is so good, hard to believe she's only 17, it seems a lot more grown up than that.

Luke Friend- Basically Older (Link Here) So if you are from the UK you'll probably know who Luke Friend is as he is currently on the UK Xfactor and is in the final tomorrow (fingers crossed for him!). I completely love him, his unique voice, his guitar playing, even his hair (considering I was practically his twin Wednesday morning). This song is one of his original's and it is my overall favourite song at the moment, the lyrics are so honest and I love the fact that it is live, it's so raw and organic sounding.

Cat Power- Sea of Love (Link Here) One of my faveee songs from the soundtrack of my faveee film ever Juno, it's played in a sad part of the movie and therefore one of my sad songs to listen to but I still love it. Really nice and chilled out and she has such an unusual voice, definitely listen to this and watch Juno , it's literally so so good!

Gabriella Cilmi- Warm this Winter (Link Here) I had to throw a christmassy song in there somewhere and even though it's one of the more recent christmas tunes I still prefer it over a lot of the older ones. I love Gabriella Cilmi anyway and her voice is lush, bit annoyed they used this for the co-op advert though -.-

The 1975- Sex (Link Here) I've only recently discovered The 1975 but already I love their music and I love this song as it's pretty catchy and I like the guitar in it. The lyrics are kind of inappropriate but it's one of those songs where you don't really listen to the the lyrics more just the music. The only lyric I remember from it is the she's got a boyfriend anyway bit and that's probably only because it's repeated a lot!

Chris Brown ft Kevin McCall- Strip (Link Here) I know what you are thinking, a song called sex and strip in one set of picks, I know it's all a bit cheeky but I can assure you it's not intended on purpose! I love this song to jam to and I am quite a fan of Chris Brown's music. I actually know a dance routine to this song (if you know me well you know how hilarious that is) so I love dancing about to it, no not in that way.

Passenger- The Last Unicorn (Link Here) Another Passenger song to feature in my picks, I love passenger so much, he is one of my favourite artists going. this song is a much older one of his but it's so good and tells a story. I first found this song purely because of the title even though it's pretty unrelated. Really nice acoustic song, but with kind of a sad theme to it.

Lana Del Rey - This Is What Makes Us Girls (Link Here) This song has been one of the most played on my Ipod for over a year, one of my favourite songs off Born to Die, highly recommend the whole album. I personally love Lana as a fashion icon as well as a singer and love how she incorporates ideas from different generations and genres in both her music and style.

Katy Perry- Thinking of You (Link here) Such an old song now, off her first album, One of the Boys. I found this on one of my old playlists on my Ipod and fell in love with it all over again. I love the whole idea of it and the honesty in the lyrics. I do still like Katy Perry but feel that some of her songs are over produced and edited now and don't show off her lovely voice like this one and some of the older ones do.

That was my music picks, I hope you enjoyed them, thanks for reading! Please comment any suggestions or feedback and follow if you want :-) Tomorrow or Sunday I am hoping to get my Christmas Gift guide/selection thing online as I am going Christmas shopping again tomorrow and will have pictures and ideas up then! I have lots of posts planned for the following week and will try to fit them around moving house, which I do next Friday, 5 days before Christmas eek!
