The weekend just gone me, my bestfriend Beth, my Mum and her boyfriend headed to Brighton for the weekend camping. It was such a lovely time and I fell in love with Brighton itself so thought I'd share a few photos with you, apologies on lack of quality as my camera is still broken, so am still relying on the trusty Iphone. Also apologies for the lack of people in pictures but seeing as it was camping we all looked a bit dishevelled to say the least.
From wandering through the eclectic shops of North Laine, stumbling into the photo booth in Snooper's Paradise to strolling down the pier and revelling in the nostalgia of arcade games and fair ground stalls, Brighton was perfect in every way. Even after two nights of camping nothing could dampen my mood when we hit the beach, despite struggling to navigate my way down the pebbles for a paddle in the sea and being so close to falling in completely, it was worth it for such an amazing view, especially from the top of the Brighton wheel too. Brighton Marina was lovely as well, though out of the heart of Brighton itself, it was such a pretty place especially in the light of the early evening.
Culture is also something that Brighton has in abundance, with the Lanes themselves catering for everyone. Naturally me and Beth had to partake in experiencing the food and drink too, enjoying my first bubble tea at Pearls (IT WAS SO SO NICE!!) and then having a cute little cupcake in the cafe Cloud Nine, honestly visit one of their stores if you are ever in Brighton, it's such a welcoming place and has the most adorable cupcakes ever. On top of that we had classic quintessentially British Fish and Chips on the seafront while tactfully avoiding seagulls. In general it was such a fun weekend and it was so nice to be away from home for a few days, especially in such an inspiring place, I'll definitely be visiting again! Have you been to Brighton? What did you think of it?

#TeenBlogSeries // Ten Facts About Me
Teen Bloggers Anouska Millar and Beth have decided to start a project called #TeenBlogSeries. Its aim is to bring together lots of the teens/young adults in the blogging community. For the next ten consecutive weeks, over 80 bloggers will be writing every Monday at 6:30pm about many different things, all beauty, lifestyle or fashion related. You can view everyones posts by going to the hashtag on twitter "TeenBlogSeries". If you would like to get involved email: anouskateenblogger@ googlemail.com.
1) When I was little I had trigger thumbs, it's where your fingers or thumbs get stuck because of the tendons, I had them operated on to un-stick them, I had it in both thumbs which is pretty rare and as I had it so young I was in the British Medical Journal. Essentially for having bent old-people thumbs.
2) I love Giraffes. They are hands down my favourite animals, they're so tall and cute and chill.
3) I've recently become a bit of a Netflix addict, PLL and OITNB are my current faves, oops.
4) Although I've been to both Thailand and Australia before, they are two of the places I most want to travel to, as well as Morocco and America. I just have a want in general to travel the world and see everything. I can't wait to get away from my town and just experience the world.
5) I recently quit playing football even though it's my favourite thing ever and I've been playing for almost 7 years, I'm taking up dance again instead.
6) I love dancing, it makes me soso happy and I recently joined some classes again after finally plucking up the courage, I was so scared of being the worst person.
7) I'm short, like only just over 5ft, for some reason people find the need to tell me how short I am on a daily basis, I am quite aware haha.
8) I drink a lot of tea. It's my favourite thing, I have my own tea shelf in the kitchen with over 10 different varieties of fruit, herbal and green tea, yummy.
9) I naturally have frizzy slightly wavy hair but I had a perm over a year ago so that it has actual waves in it but since then my hair has grown curly, freaky.
10) There isn't a day where I don't listen to music, it's my escape from everything.

Summer Playlist
These are my favourite songs so far this summer:
Undercover Martyn - Two Door Cinema Club (Link Here) An oldie but still a good'un, one of those songs you never get sick of, a firm favourite on my summer playlist and well it's Two Door Cinema Club so you can't go wrong really!
Sheets- Shannon Saunders (Link Here) I've been watching Shannon's covers and stuff on YouTube for years and then last week she put up this from her album. It's kind of electro-y but I love it, definitely a summer evening festival song. You should definitely give it a listen, she's amazing!
Deckchairs on the Moon- Bipolar Sunshine (Link Here) This came up as a suggestion on my Spotify and I've been listening to it ever since, it's pretty chilled out and summery. Again it's kind of random and not too well know but I love it.
M.O.N.E.Y- The 1975 (Link Here) One of my faveeeee songs for ages! I'm actually going to see The 1975 in London in October so am getting ready for it by playing their songs on repeat (oops). Such a chilled out kind of song and Matt Healy is just mmmm.
Dani California- Red Hot Chilli Peppers (Link Here) This is my kind of nostalgic song from summer's in the past. With my Dad being a Red Hot Chilli Peppers fan I was brought up on the Stadium Arcadium album, though I remember this song in particular being played on many long, hot summer car journeys.
Shine On- The Kooks (Link here) I love love love The Kooks, especially their older stuff and this is my summer favourite it's just cheery in like a relaxed, chilled out kind of way, it's just my ideal summer song really.
Smells Like Teen Spirit- Nirvana (Link Here) You can't beat a good old Nirvana song for the summer, say no more.
Knee Socks- Arctic Monkeys (Link Here) I love the riff in this song and it's one that I could play over and over again, Alex Turner once again, does not disappoint. This has been my sunbathing song (what little sunbathing I've managed to do with our crappy english weather) but will probably still be my fave in the winter.
Disconnected- 5 Seconds of Summer (Link Here) The start of this sounds scarily like the 1975... I've been listening to these since the YouTube days and it's crazy to see how well they are doing now, plus this week I got tickets for their UK tour. This song is just nice * I like the summer rain* it's just cute.
There's a few of the songs on my Spotify summer playlist that I've been listening to recently, I hope you are all having a lovely summer!

Review: Rimmel Wonderfull Mascara
I picked this up this week and it has already become my go-to mascara, I don't think I've ever been so impressed by a mascara in such a short amount of time. The packaging is a nice metallic bronze kind of colour and is fairly standard as far as mascara tubes go. I think this actually looks a lot more classy than some of the luminous/neoen colour tubes you get and is just generally nicer. Also I love that it doesn't have a thousand wild claims on the packaging, as most mascara's do, and is more simple.
The first thing I really love about this mascara is that it doesn't leave you with that horribly crunchy feeling where your eyelashes are left wiry (ew!). Nope, instead they are a little stiffer but still feel like eyelashes and are considerably softer than your bog standard mascara. I guess this is because of the argan oil? I don't know if that's what it is, but it genuinely makes such a difference. I found it gave the perfect balance of length, volume and separation, the three things I always lust after in a mascara. It made my lashes look longer and fuller but also seperated nicely (big thumbs up), it also gave a little bit of curve too which is always a bonus!
The wand has plastic kind of bristles which are flexible. If I'm honest I'm not always a massive fan of this type of brush but I've been so impressed by the results from this one. It's also really easy to use on bottom lashes too and coated them without making them look all spidery and gross. The only teeny downside was that when I applied another coat over the past few which had dried, it did shed off a tiny bit, but not alot, it even stayed put with no panda effect after my abs class which is seriously saying something! Anyway I got mine for £4.99 on special offer on the Rimmel stand in my local chemist which is such a steal as I'd probably pay full price for it anyway! But Superdrug have it on offer for £5.99 right now I think, and I'd most definitely purchase it for that price!

Day Trip to Bristol
Hello lovelies! On Thursday my friends Beth, Charley, Katie and myself got the train to Bristol for a day out of shopping and general mooching about. It was such a lovely day although we got lost a few times on the route between Temple Meads and Cabot, I blame our collective lack of common sense! I bought a few things, including a lovely coat, playsuit and hat as well as some other bits and bobs (all to appear here soon!). But besides having a good look around the shops it was so so nice to spend time with some of my bestfriends in a somewhat unfamiliar city, wondering about and blending into the everyday hustle and bustle, rather the opposite from our rather small town tucked away in the coutryside.
Even with the constant barrage of traffic, low hum of roadworks and near-irritating continual 'beeping' of pedestrian crossings it was lovely just to fade into the background and take in all the different parts to the city. We took a meander down the path by the river before heading off into central Bristol to do some shopping. The diversity among people was astonishing really, it was refreshing to see such a mix of style and how everyone seemed to burst with individuality with the utmost of confidence, one of those things that seems to be abundant in cities but lost within towns and villages. I genuinely lost count of the amount of inspiring outfits and thought-provoking style combinations that I saw, leaving me motivated to experiment more with my own style.
Once more I love the anonymity you have while in a city, how you can become a simple face in the crowd, insignificant, yet part of the reason the city is what it is. And so I guess this post is just about the beauty of being able to go somewhere new, just for the day and to be another nameless person, another body going about their daily business with no questions asked. Without having to worry about being judged or making a good impression but just being able to revel in being inconspicuous, effectively just getting to be nobody for a day.

DIY: Watermelon and Berry Summer Smoothie!
As promised here is the first of my little Summer DIY's, the first one being my current favourite smoothie!
You will need:
Strawberries ( I used about 6)
A small handful of blueberries
A small handful of raspberries
2-3 slices of watermelon
1/2 a cup of Greek Yoghurt (I used fat free)
Almond Milk (or another type if you so wish)
Deseed and cube your watermelon, then hull and chop your strawberries. Add these to a bowl (if using a hand blender) or to your blender along with the other fruit (raspberries and blueberries).
Next add in your 1/2 a cup of the yoghurt of choice, I bought these cute measuring scoops as so many recipes are in cups rather than grams! The yoghurt I used was Morrisons own Fat-free Greek style. One thing to be wary of when buying fat-free yoghurt, is make sure that they don't contain tonnes of sugar if you are trying to be super healthy, if not then go wild with whatever yoghurt you want ;)
Pour in a splash of Almond Milk, use however much of this you like really, depending on how much you want to thin out your smoothie. I literally only added a dash and this recipe made the perfect amount to fill a 0.5 ltr Kilner Jar. I used Alpro Almond milk as I prefer it to normal milk but you could use any milk really.
Blend it up! If you're using a hand blender make sure you get all the lumps, if you're using a normal blender you probably don't need to worry!
Pour into your fave cup or a jar, add a cute straw and a strawberry and there you go, a really summery smoothie. This is my favourite smoothie at the moment, it's really sweet and tangy and refreshing, yum!

July Favourites 2014
Here's my favourites for the month of July, I know I've been less than consistent with my posting lately but hopefully as it's summer I'll have a lot more time to blog! Without further ado here they are...
Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean 3in1 Purifying Cleanser I'm not sure what the 3in1 properties of this are supposed to be, but nevertheless I love it! It removes make-up easily and leaves skin soft and without that tight feeling that many other cleansers give. It has a really pleasant peachy smell and is light on the skin and easy to use, perfect!
Benefit Hoola Bronzing Powder I've got this in the mini version and will definitely be repurchasing it when this runs out! Such a lovely matte bronzer which isn't orangey like many others are and is great for contouring. So good for sweeping over your cheeks to get a summer glow (always needed with the temperamental English weather!). I have been using this so much recently and have fallen in love with it all over again!
Max Factor False Lash Effect Water Proof Mascara Although I don't really wear make-up in the summer this is the one product I consistently reach for. It has a nice wand that coats lashes evenly, with a lengthened look and stays all day with no 'panda eye' effect. It genuinely is waterproof even staying put after enduring 'Tidal Wave' at Thorpe Park.
Barry M Nail /Hi Shine Gelly Paints in shades Berry Ice Cream and Sugar Apple. I bought these two a few weeks ago and have been wearing them non-stop, both in really pretty summery colours and come out near enough exactly the same as the bottle. They go one really well and non streaky, leaving a nice smooth finish. Only negative being you need to add quite a few coats and/or a top coat to prevent chipping but still lovely!
Striped Paper Straws These are my favourite thing at the moment! I've been making so many homemade smoothies and drinks (DIY summer drinks posts to follow!) and none would be complete without these cute and colourful retro style paper straws. I bought the different colour mulitpacks and you can buy them from so many places. Add a drink in a Kilner Jar and hey presto, you're tumblr ready ;)
