Feature Youtuber: Ciara May

Hello my lovelies! So for this post I'm going to talk about somebody else rather than about myself for once! The youtuber I'm featuring is Ciara May who happens to be my friend from my History class at school! I've known Ciara for years but only really found out about her Youtube channel a few months ago and have been subscribed ever since! Her channel ranges from the classic Youtube tags to look books, make-up tutorials, hauls etc.

Here's her latest video:

So as I said I know Ciara pretty well and she's so genuine, literally the complete same on and off camera! Definitely go check her videos out and make sure to subscribe to her too (Link Here) and I'll put all her links at the bottom of this post if you haven't yet clicked on one of the many ones I've already put! Ciara also has a collab channel called Alannah May Sian, with two other girls from my year Chloe and Chloe, which again you should go check out and subscribe to (notice I inserted yet ANOTHER link)! Also I'm actually going to feature on Ciara's channel, I'm not sure when yet but we will be filming this week I think for it, so I will obviously link it when it happens!

Okay so that's the second post for today done! Two posts in one day! I know, pretty impressive for me. So if you haven't got the message by now (which you must be an idiot to have not got, soz not soz) I'm trying to tell you what an amazing channel you're missing out on and how cool Ciara is (not to mention she has incredibly long hair which is pretty cool too and she's my Made in Chelsea watching chum). So go watch her videos and subscribe please!

Here are her Links:

Repurchase- Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum

Hello my lovelies! Just a quick review on a product that I've been using for over a year and a half now and have recently repurchased for about the third or fourth time! So everyone seems to rave about both the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and Bourgeois Healthy Mix Serum, having tried both I personally prefer the serum. I first bought this I think around summer time about 2 years ago when I wanted a nice light foundation that gave good coverage but didn't leave me with a cake face. This certainly does the job leaving me with kind of glowy skin which isn't shiny even though I have combination skin, it gives my skin a 'healthy' look (pardon the pun).

(my rather old battered bottle on the left and my nice shiny new bottle on the right, yay)

I personally always have bought it in shade '53 Light Beige', this is my perfect summer colour, the exact colour I tan to every year but in the winter it is a tad too dark. Rather than buying it in a lighter shade I add a bit of my L'oreal True match which is way too light and not exactly my 'true match', seriously the woman on the counter in boots matched me to a colour which I can only describe as 'casper the ghost' against my skin. So really the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum is a winner all year round and in summer if I'm getting a little too shiny I set it with Rimmel's Stay Matte or Bourjois Rice powder (rice powder? It sounds something like that I'm sure) and it's perfect! Overall I find this an ever reliable foundation which is a nice light creamy texture yet good coverage with a nice natural finish, hence why I have repurchased it so many times! I've even got my mum into wearing it! Oh and by the way it's £3 off in boots at the minute, for £7.99 instead of £10.99, you're welcome ;-)

Revision Songs- my current top ten!

Hi guys so I've been a bit absent of late due to the wonderful exams which are GCSE's! I've been completely bogged down with revision for them as well as for the setting exams for maths next year,it's all a bit crazy at the moment! So I apologise for the lack of posts but I do have a lot lined up and as it's half term I have no excuse really. So I thought it would be appropriate to share some of my favourite songs at the moment with you, as these are what have got me through many tedious hours of English Literature, Chemistry and RE revision!

Youth- Daughter (Link Here) I absolutely love Daughter as I love Elena Tonra's voice, this is one of the more well known songs by them but they still aren't really popular which I kind of like. This song is quite chilled out and good to listen to while relaxing and doing revision, it's also quite summery as well, ahhh!

What You Know- Twoo Door Cinema Club (Link Here) This song is a bit of an oldie now but it's still a good 'un. It's upbeat and instantly makes me more cheery and is pretty easily listening too, again it's probably one of the more well known songs my Two Door Cinema Club.

Tonight- John Legend (Link Here) This song is probably one of my favourite songs everrr! It makes me want to just get up and dance, even though I'm a terrible dancer, it just cheers me up so much and is so good to listen to as a break from doing work. Literally try not to dance or at least bob your head, you won't be able to, it's infectious!

All of the Stars- Ed Sheeran (Link Here) Awhhh, that was my first reaction to this song from the soundtrack of the ever nearing, The Fault in Our Stars movie! I love it, it's so chilled out and beautiful, I love Ed Sheeran's voice anyway and this song is just beyond cute, I'm so excited for the movie, if it's half as good as the sound track then it will be amazing!

Get Home- Bastille (Link Here) This song holds so many memories for me, I spent the coach journey to the airport on the way back from Germany listening to this with my best friend sharing headphones through the seat, and with Germany being such an amazing trip where I made so many good friends, this song just always reminds me of it!

Hey Ya// acoustic cover//- Matt Weddle (Link Here) I discovered this song as it's the background song on my friend's YouTube channel (which I'll be doing a post on later in the week) and have fallen in love with this version! Which is saying something as I really don't like the original! I find it pretty relaxing too :-)

Why'd You Only Call me When You're High- Arctic Monkeys (Link Here) Probably one of the more mainstream Arctic Monkeys songs that I like, but nevertheless it's still good, also very jealous of one of my bestfriend's who went and saw Arctic Monkey's in Finnsbury Park Friday on her birthday, seriosuly unfair ;-)

California Sun- Palma Violets (Link Here) I found this song on the Teen vogue summer song list like last year I think? And it makes me think of the sun and be all happy, even if I am stuck indoors doing revision! It's by a band no one seems to of heard of too? So I thought I might as well share it with you guys!

Mine //cover//- Shannon Saunders (Link Here) I posted about this song ages ago but it's still one of my favourites and I love how Shannon has put her own spin on it in this cover. Again I've posted about one of Shannon's originals previously too and I love her voice, definitely check her music out!

In the Morning- The Coral (Link Here) This song is again quite an oldie but always makes me laugh, I recently rediscovered it when watching Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging as a revision break ( I was revising I swear!) and now I'm addicted to listening to it all over again!

Okay so that was my music picks that I've been listening to while doing my revision, hope all of you who are doing exams are getting on alright too and Good Luck if you've got more after half term like I do! I'm sure you'll all be amazing! Watch out for many more posts this week and I hope to hear from you all soon!

KIKO mini make-up haul!

Hey guys! So last week while painting my mum's nails my sister said about how much she loved my KIKO pale lilac nail varnish and she told me she'd pick up some more for me for me when she visited London (as that's the only store they have in England). In the end we both wanted so many things that it made sense to make an online order. So this is some of what we got...

So between us these are the nail varnishes we got, plus another one which is a mint colour (see swatch below). We got 11 nail varnishes in total, I was really impressed with most of them but as ever with ordering online, some of the colours haven't turned out the same as they looked on the website. the only one I was really disappointed with was the colour '344 misty green' as it looks like a really pretty pastel on the website yet turned out quite a murky dark colour.

So these are the swatches, again they look a little darker than in real life but it's the best I could do so sorry! These are in the same order as in the picture but backwards with the mint colour on then end. The colours with a heart over them are metallic/sparkly but as you can see they are really strong colours still rather than just a gilttery top coat, some of them have a chunkier sparkle others are more metallic.

I also purchased this, which is KIKO glow touch lip and cheek and mine is in shade '101 Venus Pink' and I ended up buying this after watching Gabby's make up haul, which actually kind of inspired me to make these KIKO purchases actually! Gabby's channel is velvetgh0st and is one of my favourite yotuber's ever! if you don't watch her videos, here's the link to her channel ( Click here for link!).I've actually been really impressed by this product plus the packaging is really pretty!

As you can see it's a really pretty pink colour and comes in a cute little tin, although I have been finding the tin a bit difficult to open!I've only had this a few days but on my first impressions I really like it, it goes on really nicely on my lips and cheeks and is nicely pigmented and easy to blend. Overall I'm really happy with my order from KIKO although it is a bit annoying that you have to spend at least £25, I was okay because I've bought the nail varnishes in Germany so know that I like them but for someone who hasn't tried it before it seems a bit silly. Plus I ordered with my sister (who bought a bunch of eyeliners) but I probably wouldn't have bothered ordering if it was on my own!

Okay so thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed this little haul post, I've got my GCSE's pretty much for the next solid month or so, but I promise to try keep posting! I'll link velvetgh0st's channel below again in case you missed it, along with my usual links!

DofE practice expedition

Hey guys so I've got like 5 GCSE's coming up in the next month and a half so I apologise for neglecting my blog a bit but i'm completely bogged down by school work at the moment! So last weekend I went with about 30 others from my year on our Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition! This involved a day's walking, navigating an unknown route, setting up camp, staying overnight and navigating our way back to the school. It was such a great weekend, I honestly haven't laughed so much in ages and it was great to get to know some people in my year that I don't speak to much.

(my walking group, minus Katie and Kayleigh who'd made the mile trek to the portaloos)

(our lovely camp)

(roasting marshmallows on the campfire)

Unfortunately we weren't the first team to make it to the forest we were camping in, the boys team got there 10 minutes before us! But we we had all managed to get our tents up, meals cooked and a campfire going before the other team of girls turned up, 2 and a half hours later! It's safe to say they got a bit lost! I also managed to slip and fall on my arse straight into mud in front of mine and the boys groups, yep I was as smooth as normal. It was good though because we all just laughed it off and about 7 other people did the same thing later on anyway! I actually really got into the outdoors thing, I learnt off the others how to get a fire going and one of the boys showed me how to use a penknife to whittle a stick ready for marshmallow toasting, it's safe to say I'm definitely no Bear Grylls though!

(nice shoes get you nowhere in the forest)

( me-on the right- and my walking buddy Patricia)

It was such a good experience all though my rucksack did bruise my shoulders, ouchhh. It was so good just for everyone to get on and chat to eachother, we all stayed up til 12 round the campfire, toasting marshmallows and singing (very badly may I add). There was no divide between the girls either, which there often is at school as we all looked the same, makeup-less and muddy with jumpers, hoodies, leggings and mighty attractive walking boots on! Overall it was just a really positive experience and I'm so excited for our assessed expedition in June! I'd definitely recommend doing it to anyone, as all the sections have been really good fun and actually rewarding to do! Thanks for reading this post guys! Find me on the links below!

My Skincare Essentials!

Hey guys! So I hope those of you who are off for Easter are having a good time off and aren't getting too bogged down by revision like I am! Also if you live in England you'll know we've been having fairly sunny weather, maybe summer is somewhere round the corner hey! And for the rest of you I hope your weather is good wherever you may be too! So I thought I'd share with you guys some of my skincare essentials, things that I use on a daily basis and give you my opinion on them so here goes!

So my first skincare essentials are two facial washes by Petal Fresh Botanicals. The first is the Peppermint and Aloe Facial Cleanser, I use this every morning and its soo refreshing and smells really good too. It's also gentle enough as I have sensitive skin and I find it's really balancing, it has a kind of gel to foam formula and has been a firm favourite of mine for months. The second is the Aloe and Apricot Facial Scrub which is my absolute favourite! This scrub is so good and really exfoliates your skin but is still gentle, I tend to use it every other day and I love it, it's not harsh or scratchy like so many other scrubs I've used. It's also a really good dupe for St Ives Apricot scrubs, in fact I prefer this one! At only £1.99 per tube for 200ml they're such good value for the quality, only problem is I've never seen them in chain stores only in independent pharmacies so they're a bit difficult to get hold of!

So my next skincare essentials aren't so much essentials as I don't use them every day, but if they weren't as pricey to buy I probably would! These are the mini versions of: Foamingly Clean Facial Wash, It's potent! Eye Cream and Refined Finish Facial Polish, from the Benefit Skincare set. There are 6 mini's in the set but these 3 are definitely my favourites. Both face washes are gentle and feel a little bit more luxurious than your bog standard cleansers and scrubs. I especially love the eye cream as I find it really brightens my under eyes and makes my skin round my eyes more glowy as I unfortunately suffer from pretty chronic dark under eye circles. The bigger versions of these are a little on the pricey side, hence why I don't have them as my paper money doesn't quite stretch that far with all the other clothes and make-up I buy!

On a cheaper note, I love these oil balancing wipes that I picked up from Primark. You get two packs of 25 for £1 so of course they're a bargain! These wipes are super refreshing and are great for quickly swiping over your face especially on those summer days when you're going bare-faced. They smell quite strongly of teatree yet don't really sting when used near your eyes, like a lot of teatree products do. I find they're really handy just to chuck in my handbag when on the go, leave my face feeling fresh and are really affordable so are a winner all round!

The next couple two are by simple and I originally bought just for Germany to save taking full size bottles of other products with me. But after using them both for 10 days I found that I really like them, especially the moisturiser, which is light enough yet still really good and moisturising  even though I have combination skin. The travel bottle is quite hard to get the product out of though, which is a bit annoying but it's a good travel option. The wash too is more a product I use when I'm away for the night rather than everyday but is a nice foaming wash with a pleasant smell too. They'd be good for people with normal skin I guess or on a budget.

So the next thing I always buy/use are face masks, I try to do at least one mask a week on a evening while I relax and my favourites are the ones by 'montagne jeunesse' as I've always used them but I also love the ones from Superdrug and H&M as I've started to buy them more recently. Pretty much all face masks smell really good and are nice on your skin plus they're amazing for sleepovers with the girls!

And finally my last essential is the T-Zone Rapid Action Zapping gel, basically I apply this when I have a bad blemish and it tends to reduce the redness and make it less noticable, obviously I don't use this everyday but it's definitely essential to keep in my bathroom or my handbag if i'm out all day :-)

So that was my some of my skin essentials I hope you enjoyed reading, tell me what you think or if you use any of these products! Also notice I've finally sorted out my bloglovin' and there is now a button on my page too, woo! That's all for now, but I'm going to be uploading more on here so stay tuned!

March Favourites

Hello my lovelies! So sorry I haven't posted in a while but I've been crazy busy since I got back from Germany not only with school catch up but also hosting my Exchange here in England for 10 days as well as revising for the 5 GCSE Exams I have coming up, eek! I'm working on a few posts about the exchange too, sorry they aren't up yet but I'm trying to condense everything down into some decent, honest posts on all the ups and downs of the exchange- and trust me there were certainly loads of them! So for now to keep you going here are my favourites for the month of March!

First favourite for the past month is the 'Think Pink' from none other than Lush! These are £2.50 each and smell amaazingggg! I got this one as part of a box I got for my birthday and its so nice and turns your bath a pretty pink colour! It smells kinda like vanilla but isn't too sweet and has cute little flowers in it too! My fave thing for bath time of course!

My second favourite is another sweet smelling thang in the form of yes! A Yankee candle! This one in particular is the flavour/scent 'Cherry Vanilla' and smells divine! Literally you only have to light it for like 10 minutes and it fills the room with that nostalgic 'kids cherry shampoo' smell if you know what I mean? It genuinely smells so so good and is my favourite out of the Yankee candles that I have.

The next of my favourites is this 'Green Tea' lipbalm by HURRAW! This has quickly become one of my fave lipbalms and that's pretty impressive considering how many different ones I have! It smells kind of like green tea but it's the formula that I love, it's creamier than most stick lipbalms (such as babylips) but isn't as sticky as Vaseline- it's like the perfect middle option. It's from American Apparel and I think it was about £4.50 which is more than I would usually pay for a lipbalm, but honestly such a worth it buy. Oh and did I mention it's all natural and vegan? Yay!

My next favourite is a nail varnish I bought while in Germany from 'KIKO', I actually loved this store and they had sooo many nail varnishes, I ended up buying quite a few but this is by far my favourite colour. This is the normal nail lacquer in shade '338 Light Lavender' it's quite a bit lighter than it appears on the website, (more like how shade '339' looks) and is the perfect pastel colour for spring. It didn't picture very well but trust me it's a gorgeous colour! I don't think we have KIKO shops in the UK (let me know if you know of one!) but they have a website too hurrah!

My next is an edible, well drinkable, favourite and it is the PG Tips raspberry flavour green tea. As many people know I have a slight green tea obsession at the moment (hence the lipbalm too) and manage to go through around 3-4 cups a day, whoops! I really love this type as it has a slight sweetness too it, although I wouldn't necessarily say it's raspberry. I much prefer this variety to quite a lot of the Twinings green teas as I find some of them a bit too strong, but many Twinings ones are good too! Perfect for the springtime mornings!

My final favourite is some Hair Scrunchies that I bought from American Apparel, now normally I make all my own scrunchies,so I can chose all my own materials etc, but I was in American Apparel and these were just too cute to resist! They're really good as the have nice thick elastic in them, perfect for tying my wild hair back! I really love the different prints of them too, especially the pastel checkered one and daisy print one which are really summery. They were £4.50 each, but the chiffon ones are more expensive online so I was lucky really with the daisy one, and they were 3 for 2!

So there were my favourites for the month, I hope you enjoyed reading! Lots of posts lined up for the coming weeks so keep an eye out! I've also just sent my box off to my partner for the Easter Beauty Box Swap so watch out for that one too! I hope you're having a lovely easter holidays if you're off school and that everyone's enjoying the start of spring, although if you're in England you'll know it still feels like January! As always find me on the social networks below..
