My Skincare Essentials!

Hey guys! So I hope those of you who are off for Easter are having a good time off and aren't getting too bogged down by revision like I am! Also if you live in England you'll know we've been having fairly sunny weather, maybe summer is somewhere round the corner hey! And for the rest of you I hope your weather is good wherever you may be too! So I thought I'd share with you guys some of my skincare essentials, things that I use on a daily basis and give you my opinion on them so here goes!

So my first skincare essentials are two facial washes by Petal Fresh Botanicals. The first is the Peppermint and Aloe Facial Cleanser, I use this every morning and its soo refreshing and smells really good too. It's also gentle enough as I have sensitive skin and I find it's really balancing, it has a kind of gel to foam formula and has been a firm favourite of mine for months. The second is the Aloe and Apricot Facial Scrub which is my absolute favourite! This scrub is so good and really exfoliates your skin but is still gentle, I tend to use it every other day and I love it, it's not harsh or scratchy like so many other scrubs I've used. It's also a really good dupe for St Ives Apricot scrubs, in fact I prefer this one! At only £1.99 per tube for 200ml they're such good value for the quality, only problem is I've never seen them in chain stores only in independent pharmacies so they're a bit difficult to get hold of!

So my next skincare essentials aren't so much essentials as I don't use them every day, but if they weren't as pricey to buy I probably would! These are the mini versions of: Foamingly Clean Facial Wash, It's potent! Eye Cream and Refined Finish Facial Polish, from the Benefit Skincare set. There are 6 mini's in the set but these 3 are definitely my favourites. Both face washes are gentle and feel a little bit more luxurious than your bog standard cleansers and scrubs. I especially love the eye cream as I find it really brightens my under eyes and makes my skin round my eyes more glowy as I unfortunately suffer from pretty chronic dark under eye circles. The bigger versions of these are a little on the pricey side, hence why I don't have them as my paper money doesn't quite stretch that far with all the other clothes and make-up I buy!

On a cheaper note, I love these oil balancing wipes that I picked up from Primark. You get two packs of 25 for £1 so of course they're a bargain! These wipes are super refreshing and are great for quickly swiping over your face especially on those summer days when you're going bare-faced. They smell quite strongly of teatree yet don't really sting when used near your eyes, like a lot of teatree products do. I find they're really handy just to chuck in my handbag when on the go, leave my face feeling fresh and are really affordable so are a winner all round!

The next couple two are by simple and I originally bought just for Germany to save taking full size bottles of other products with me. But after using them both for 10 days I found that I really like them, especially the moisturiser, which is light enough yet still really good and moisturising  even though I have combination skin. The travel bottle is quite hard to get the product out of though, which is a bit annoying but it's a good travel option. The wash too is more a product I use when I'm away for the night rather than everyday but is a nice foaming wash with a pleasant smell too. They'd be good for people with normal skin I guess or on a budget.

So the next thing I always buy/use are face masks, I try to do at least one mask a week on a evening while I relax and my favourites are the ones by 'montagne jeunesse' as I've always used them but I also love the ones from Superdrug and H&M as I've started to buy them more recently. Pretty much all face masks smell really good and are nice on your skin plus they're amazing for sleepovers with the girls!

And finally my last essential is the T-Zone Rapid Action Zapping gel, basically I apply this when I have a bad blemish and it tends to reduce the redness and make it less noticable, obviously I don't use this everyday but it's definitely essential to keep in my bathroom or my handbag if i'm out all day :-)

So that was my some of my skin essentials I hope you enjoyed reading, tell me what you think or if you use any of these products! Also notice I've finally sorted out my bloglovin' and there is now a button on my page too, woo! That's all for now, but I'm going to be uploading more on here so stay tuned!

March Favourites

Hello my lovelies! So sorry I haven't posted in a while but I've been crazy busy since I got back from Germany not only with school catch up but also hosting my Exchange here in England for 10 days as well as revising for the 5 GCSE Exams I have coming up, eek! I'm working on a few posts about the exchange too, sorry they aren't up yet but I'm trying to condense everything down into some decent, honest posts on all the ups and downs of the exchange- and trust me there were certainly loads of them! So for now to keep you going here are my favourites for the month of March!

First favourite for the past month is the 'Think Pink' from none other than Lush! These are £2.50 each and smell amaazingggg! I got this one as part of a box I got for my birthday and its so nice and turns your bath a pretty pink colour! It smells kinda like vanilla but isn't too sweet and has cute little flowers in it too! My fave thing for bath time of course!

My second favourite is another sweet smelling thang in the form of yes! A Yankee candle! This one in particular is the flavour/scent 'Cherry Vanilla' and smells divine! Literally you only have to light it for like 10 minutes and it fills the room with that nostalgic 'kids cherry shampoo' smell if you know what I mean? It genuinely smells so so good and is my favourite out of the Yankee candles that I have.

The next of my favourites is this 'Green Tea' lipbalm by HURRAW! This has quickly become one of my fave lipbalms and that's pretty impressive considering how many different ones I have! It smells kind of like green tea but it's the formula that I love, it's creamier than most stick lipbalms (such as babylips) but isn't as sticky as Vaseline- it's like the perfect middle option. It's from American Apparel and I think it was about £4.50 which is more than I would usually pay for a lipbalm, but honestly such a worth it buy. Oh and did I mention it's all natural and vegan? Yay!

My next favourite is a nail varnish I bought while in Germany from 'KIKO', I actually loved this store and they had sooo many nail varnishes, I ended up buying quite a few but this is by far my favourite colour. This is the normal nail lacquer in shade '338 Light Lavender' it's quite a bit lighter than it appears on the website, (more like how shade '339' looks) and is the perfect pastel colour for spring. It didn't picture very well but trust me it's a gorgeous colour! I don't think we have KIKO shops in the UK (let me know if you know of one!) but they have a website too hurrah!

My next is an edible, well drinkable, favourite and it is the PG Tips raspberry flavour green tea. As many people know I have a slight green tea obsession at the moment (hence the lipbalm too) and manage to go through around 3-4 cups a day, whoops! I really love this type as it has a slight sweetness too it, although I wouldn't necessarily say it's raspberry. I much prefer this variety to quite a lot of the Twinings green teas as I find some of them a bit too strong, but many Twinings ones are good too! Perfect for the springtime mornings!

My final favourite is some Hair Scrunchies that I bought from American Apparel, now normally I make all my own scrunchies,so I can chose all my own materials etc, but I was in American Apparel and these were just too cute to resist! They're really good as the have nice thick elastic in them, perfect for tying my wild hair back! I really love the different prints of them too, especially the pastel checkered one and daisy print one which are really summery. They were £4.50 each, but the chiffon ones are more expensive online so I was lucky really with the daisy one, and they were 3 for 2!

So there were my favourites for the month, I hope you enjoyed reading! Lots of posts lined up for the coming weeks so keep an eye out! I've also just sent my box off to my partner for the Easter Beauty Box Swap so watch out for that one too! I hope you're having a lovely easter holidays if you're off school and that everyone's enjoying the start of spring, although if you're in England you'll know it still feels like January! As always find me on the social networks below..

Top 10 Music Picks

Hey, so here are my music picks at the moment, hope you enjoy them!

John Legend- All of me (Link Here) I love this song it's just really cute and John Legend has an amazing voice. I love the lyrics they're so well written and really poetic, I guess I'm just a sucker for all that lovey dovey stuff and this song is definitely full of it and just really cute.

Noah and The Whale- (Link Here) This song has so many memories for me, it's my song from summer about 5 years ago. It's just a happy song and it still makes me smile every time I listen to it, it's so upbeat and just makes me think of sunshine.

Blur- Parklife (Link Here) Being a 90's kid I was brought up on the likes of Blur, Oasis and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Recently I got back into listening to them after watching My Mad Fat Diary (my fave show) amnd I rediscovered this song from years ago.

Oasis- Champagne Supernova (Link Here) I remember hearing this song countless times as a kid and remember my Dad singing it in the car on journey's back to Newcastle. It makes me smile and is one of my all time favourite songs, plus Chop sings it on series 1 of MMFD.

Tom Odell- Another Love (Link Here) I love this song and I think he's extremely talented as a pianist as well as a singer. This song is pretty chilled and I listen to it ALOT. My friend Beth was lucky enough to see him in concert in Plymouth recently and she said how good this song was live too.

The Vaccines- Norgaard (Link Here) I love this song so much I just wish it was longer, it's one of those songs I dance round to while getting ready in the morning, I've only really discovered the vaccines again and this is my favourite song along with Teenage Icon.

5sos- She Looks So Perfect (Link Here) The boys that became famous by touring with 1D have just realised this and everyone's talking about it -and I love it! I never thought I'd be into this type of music but I really like 5 seconds of summer.  The video is a bit weird though.

T2- Heartbroken (Link Here) A classic Noughties party song, me and my friend Syd were singing it in Chemistry the other day and ever since it's been stuck in my head, I also played it last night at my birthday party and it got everyone saying 'I remember this!' such a tuneee.

The 1975- Me (Link Here) This song is definitely one of my favourites my the 1975, instead of being upbeat it's pretty slow and kind of sad. It's quite a depressing song in general but it's honest and I like that. My favourite line is at the end after everything it goes 'I love you, don't you mind, don't you mind'

Fun-All Alright (Link Here) Another sad song really but this one is a bit more upbeat, it's great to listen to it when you are feeling a bit down, it's all alright! I love Nate Reuss' voice to it's so individual, I have to admit this is another song that Beth has introduced me to and it's our jam.

Anyway that's my picks, thanks for for reading if you did haha! I'm in Germany for the next 10days so there won't be in posts until I get back and then you will probably be inundated with pictures and posts! So have a lovely few days!

The Liebster Award

Hello my lovelies!
So I'm quite excited to do this post, a week or so ago I was nominated by Sheridan from http://sheridankate.blogspot.com.au/ to do the Liebster award so here goes!

RULES:

1. Link the blog that nominated you for the award - Sheridan, linked above :-)
2. Choose 11 bloggers to nominate who have less than 200 followers - I nominate KatieIsabelHollie and Bella, I know its not 11 but I can't think of that many, sorry!
3. Answer 11 questions given to you.
4. Let people you have nominated know you have done so (hmm I might do).
5. You can't nominate the person who has nominated you.
6. Create 11 questions for the people you nominated to answer.

My questions from Sheridan are:

1Who is your blogging inspiration?
I have a few main blogging inspirations, Zoella(obvs), Tanya Burr and Gabriella (http://velvetgh0st.blogspot.co.uk/) also I like Dainty Sprinkles and Lauryn from Lauryn's Notebook. I've actually spoke to Lauryn a bit recently and she has helped me and talked me through changing the look of my blog (tahdah!) which I could never have done on my own so thankyou to her big time. She's got a great blog so go check it out, she's definitely an inspiration to me, sorry I couldn't just pick one!

2. Do you like to sing?
Yes I love singing, but I don't think anyone else likes it oops. I'm more of sing-in-the-shower type of person and even that backfired when my neighbour told me she 'liked' my singing. I'm a backing singer in the school musical, does that count? I think the music teacher gave the part to me because she felt bad for me though haha.

3. What are you most excited for about the upcoming season?
Um I don't know, I don't think there is anything in particular, just hoping for better weather I guess?

4. What do you like most about where you live?
I like that my town is fairly small and that you can walk down the street and see someone you know. I also like that on the whole, people are friendly and perfect strangers will walk past me and greet me with 'morning' as I shuffle past them with my paperbag in tow, it's just nice I guess.

5. Do you have any idea of what you want to do after school?
Is it bad that I'm the most disorganised person yet have a full on plan of the next few years? I want to leave school (hopefully with decent grades) and go to college (which I've already picked) and study, biology, sociology and 1 or 2 others. Then hopefully I'll have a gapyear then go to Uni and study to be a physiotherapist, boring huh?

6. Mac or PC?
PC all the way!!! I have a complete dinosaur of a PC that I do all my blogging from and I honestly love it even if it is a monster!

7. Can you draw?
No, most definitely not. I have no artistic ability and drawing is included in that, the fact that I played pictogram with my friends and it took them 20 minutes and several extra clues to guess the lion king speaks volumes and says all that needs to be said about my drawing abilities (non-exsistent drawing abilities).

8. What is at the top of your travel wishlist?
Thailand- I definitely want to go back there, I only saw a small amount before it was spoilt by the Tsunami and I was pretty young then so I definitely want to go back and America- I want to see so much of America it's crazy ( I know that's two but they're joint top!)

9. What is your favourite holiday?
Probably when I went to Australia for 3 weeks, we went to Cairns, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney and it was amazing, I saw so much in those 3 weeks and met so many lovely people -I was happy at the time, my family were altogether and I was young so all I could see were blue skies and smiley faces.

10. What's your favourite dessert?
Probably eton mess, I'm not much of a rich pudding person anymore and I remember having really good eton mess at my friend Char's summer party last year, it just reminds me of that day (which was amazing!) and of summer in general.

11. What are you reading right now?
I've not long finished Safehaven and am now moving onto either Looking for Alaska or The Perks of being a Wallflower but I'm not sure which one to read first, the troubles of being a teenage bookworm hey!

My 11 Questions are:
1.What's your favourite song at the moment?
2.What is your best memory from last year?
3.What would you do if you had 3 wishes?
4.What made you start blogging?
5.Who is your celeb crush?
6.What is your favourite book?
7.What is your favourite time of year and why?
8.If you could swap lives with anyone for one day,who would you swap with?
9.Do you have any talents in particular?
10.How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
11.What is your favourite tv programme?

Thanks for reading, as usual contact me on the links below!

February Favourites (Beauty Post)

So it's not quite the end of February yet but since it's the end of halfterm/midterm and then it's back to school this week, then my birthday and then on the 5th I'm off to Germany for 10 days, I thought I'd fit in some posts now! So these are my favourites for the month of February, yes I thought I'd jump on the blogger bandwagon of doing monthly favourites then every couple of months do a giveaway of some things that have previously appeared on my favourites. This months favourites are a selection of products that I have bought over the last few weeks and I love using (hence why they are my favourites aha).

The first of my favourites is the Olay essentials beauty fluid for normal/dry/combo skin (below right) and I am so happy with this! I personally have combination skin with dry skin across the bridge of my nose and some on my cheeks and then the typical teenage oily t-zone. This moisturises my skin so well leaving all my skin soft and smooth without being greasy or drying. I heard about this product from my Great-nan! She swears by it and has lovely skin even though she's in her 90's, so if it's good enough for her, it's good enough for me! But yeh I use this everyday after washing my face and it is a good base for make up too,or like it says on the back you can mix with your foundation to make a really nice tinted moisturiser.

My next favourite is Rimmel 9-in-1 BB cream in the shade Light (above left). I bought this after a friend recommended it to me. I was a bit sceptical when buying this after I was really disappointed by the Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation (ew). But I was surprised by this foundation as it offers a fresh-faced natural looking finish with decent coverage which can be built up. I bought this for the days where I don't need a thick face of foundation but need some lighter coverage and I've found it to be perfect for that. As for the 9-in-1 properties as the packaging say: Primes,Moisturises, Minimises Pores, Conceals, Covers, Smoothes, Mattifies, Brightens and helps protect. Now I wouldn't say it does all of these but it definitely is a really moisturising bb cream which gives a natural non-shiny finish and evens out skin tone as well as giving a good amount of coverage. My only criticism is that it only comes in two shades, Light and Medium, which doesn't really cater for many as the light shade is still quite dark making this probably too dark for more fair skinned people, but apart from that I love it.

My next favourite is the Collection 16 hour Lasting Perfection Concealer in the shade number 2 Light (pictured below). Now every beauty blogger, youtuber, and their dog have raved and written about this concealer so I thought I'd join the club and buy it too! After trying many concealers in attempts to cover the constant grey under my eyes I have found something that works! Yes I am going to join in and rave about this product too! This concealer gives great long lasting coverage and covers not only my horrendous dark circles and brightens but also covers any blemishes really well too. I have blended it with both my ring finger and with a concealer brush and it looks just as good with both. There is also a good selection of colours and this shade needs barely any blending on my skin. Also with it being around £4-£5 (it was half price at around £2.50 when I bought it)  it's affordable and better quality than a lot of other more expensive concealers too. I loooove it.

My next favourite is another Collection product, this time the Extreme 24 hour felt tip liner (above). I've only got into wearing eye liner in the last couple months as before I was convinced it made me look too gothic with my dark hair and all, but then my friend introduced me to the cat-eye and I was captured by the trend. I've treid a few different liquid eye liners but I've found them hard to use and my eye liner has ended up looking a bit pants really. My friend bought me this and the pen style is so easy to use and is practically fool proof. It's also easy to create thin and thick lines with, so is ideal. If I can use it then so can anyone! Saying that I don't think it's 24 hour exactly, more 7-8 hours without touch ups but longer with touch ups. But this is a favourite of mine as it is easy to control and gives a nice matte. But it is affordable and definitely a good budget buy giving good quality and easy application.

So my next favourite is a hair product which I saw advertised quite a bit and that is the L'Oréal Paris Studio Line #TXT Wave Creating Spray (pictured below). On the back it has instructions for spraying on damp hair and twisting then blow drying to create waves on straight hair. My hair is already wavy/curly and I just have to spritz this through while dry or damp, scrunch it a bit then leave it to dry and I've found it really defines my curls without being sticky or leaving my hair crunchy like lots of other products I've used. This is perfect for my hair to make my curls less frizzy and more defined which is a massive thing for me after trying endless hair products to achieve that. It also works well on straight hair (my friend was my guinea pig) and it creates more of a tousled beachy wave look but either way I love it! It kind of smells like johnson's baby wipes though. It's normally £3.89 at boots or superdrug but I got mine at the local pharmacy for £2.99.

So the last products in my favourites this month are probably my favourite things, I'm literally obsessed with them and they are two eos lipbalms in flavours: Raspberry and Pomegranate (below left) and Strawberry Sorbet (below right). I've wanted to try one of these for ages but they seem to be a pain in the arse to get in the UK (let me know if you know anywhere that does them please!). So when my bestfriend Dulcie went on the half term school trip to New York I asked her to buy me two and she did! I literally love these so much, they smell amazing, are super moisturising and the packaging is so cute! I really like the shape of them which at first I thought I'd find annoying but I actually love, they look really pretty on my desk and are just really handy and nicer than a lot of other lip balms I've tried and trust me I'm the lipbalm queen! I literally have loads of lipbalms and these are up there with the best of them. I'm definitely going to buy some more of these now I know that they're amazing even if I have to pay ridiculous shipping fees haha!
So that concludes my February favourites! I hope you liked them and let me know if you've tried any of the products and what you think of them or any suggestions of products I should try (sorry if I rambled a bit!). Also I apologise for the dodgy quality photos but my Iphone camera is a bit cracked! I hope you all have a good week and I plan to post a few more times before I leave for Germany so watch this space :-) Anyway thanks if you took the time to read!

One of those cliché blogger posts: 50 facts about me

Hey everyone,so first of all I apologise for not blogging in a while, school seems to be extra hectic at the moment and I've been subjected to yet another bout of tonsillitis as well as a stomach bug! But I'm back and I thought i'd just let you into my life a little bit more and let you get to know me more, hope you enjoy reading!

1. I'm an aunt, yes already! I first became an aunty about 4 years ago and I now have multiple nephews and nieces!
2.It's my birthday in 19 days! (Not excited to be 15 at all)
